OUR APPROACH

We manage our environmental and social impacts through disciplined governance, establishing policies and standards, setting clear lines of accountability and responsibilities at all levels of the organization, and establishing performance goals and objectives. Underscored by our purpose statement and values, we operate with a goal of creating long-term value within the regions in which we operate.

Responsible mining means managing our environmental, social, and governance impacts while creating long-term value for employees, Indigenous partners, communities, and shareholders. We integrate sustainability into how we operate, make decisions, and manage risk across the mining lifecycle—from exploration and development through to closure. Our approach is guided by strong governance, clear accountability, and ongoing engagement with Indigenous groups, local communities, employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.

We focus on protecting the environment, supporting safe and healthy workplaces, respecting human rights, and building meaningful relationships with the people and communities connected to our operations. Our performance is supported by oversight from senior leadership and the Board of Directors, company-wide policies and standards, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

SUSTAINABILITY GOVERNANCE

Wesdome’s Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing progress against the Company’s strategy and related Sustainability goals and objectives, as well ensuring the proper management of material Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) areas of business. This includes reviewing the assessment and mitigation actions of ESG-related risks and opportunities and monitoring performance. The Technical, Safety and Sustainability Committee (TSSC) of the Board holds this responsibility and meets quarterly with members of the Company’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Oversight responsibilities flow from the Board to the Company’s SLT. The Vice President (VP), Sustainability & Environment (E&S), a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), leads the Company’s sustainability strategy and ESG performance reporting. At our operating mines, site management teams, which include Managers of Environment, Human Resources and Health & Safety, report to General Managers, who report to the COO, creating a clear line of accountability and responsibility from the mine site up to the Board of Directors. Exploration activities are led by the Company’s Senior Vice President, Exploration & Resources, who reports to the CEO and is supported by the VP, E&S and site management teams on matters relating to environmental and social performance.

The TSSC reviews key ESG performance indicators on a quarterly basis, including health and safety performance, stakeholder and Indigenous engagement activities, grievances, and environmental performance.

Wesdome’s corporate governance and ESG-related policies guide responsible business conduct across the organization. These policies are reviewed annually by the Governance Committee of the Board and are communicated to employees, contractors, and suppliers through onboarding and training. Directors, officers, employees, and contractors also complete annual training on the Wesdome Code of Conduct and Ethics.

ESG OVERSIGHT

ESG considerations are integrated into Wesdome's governance structure and decision-making processes. Oversight begins with the Board of Directors and its committees, with accountability for implementation shared across executive leadership, corporate functions, and site operations. This structure supports effective risk management, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and the achievement of Wesdome's sustainability objectives.
